As we step forward into a new season of ministry here at CBC Ilderton, we are excited to see what God will accomplish in the lives of our families. There is much work to be done, and this work can not be accomplished by a small handful of pastors and leaders. We need volunteers to partner with us in the work of the gospel!
And so, whether you have served in Children’s Ministry before, or whether you are brand new to volunteering, please prayerfully consider partnering with us in ministry to the many children and families of our church. Volunteers are a vital and necessary component of Family Ministry. Without your help, the work can not be accomplished!
We are in need of Nursery and Preschool/Kindergarten volunteers on Sunday mornings, and we are also in need of volunteers for all age groups (Nursery to Grade 5) on Wednesday evenings. Our aim is to have enough volunteers for everyone to serve 1-2 times per month. As with so many things, the more volunteers we have, the more the workload can be spread!
As a prospective volunteer, we will ask you to fill out an application, submit a background check (with any costs paid by the church), and go through a short interview (in person or remote). We will also ask you to be willing to attend training sessions (in-person, online, or a combination of both). If you have served in the Children’s Ministry before, you have already completed many of these steps, and many of them will not need to be repeated.
We are especially in need of teachers to lead our classes. While the idea of being a teacher may sound scary, this role does not require you to come up with lessons on your own. Our curriculum makes teaching easy and accessible—even to those who have never taught before. If you can read a story to the children and lead them in activities, you can be a teacher! And I would encourage many of you to trust in faith that God can use you in the lives of our children in this way.
Below, you will find the link to a volunteer survey that will help us get a clearer sense of what our current volunteer base looks like. So much has changed in the last 16 months, and this information will help us plan more effectively for our ministry launch in the Fall. By filling out this survey, you are not committing yourself to volunteering. Instead, the information you give will be used as a starting point to discuss volunteering further.
Please prayerfully consider partnering with us to see the next generation radically transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ! Please also pray that the Lord would provide an abundance of volunteers for every ministry in our church as we re-launch in September—that the church may be built up, that God may be glorified, and that the gospel would transform many lives!
