Remember, in His Word, God has:

  • Something to see – what does the text say
  • Something to understand – what does it mean
  • Something to apply – what does it mean to me
  • Something to praise – for what are you thankful?

(1) Through the Bible

Day 1: 1 Samuel 15, 16Day 4: 1 Samuel 21, 22
Day 2: 1 Samuel 17, 18Day 5: 1 Samuel 23, 24
Day 3: 1 Samuel 19, 20Day 6: 1 Samuel 25, 26

This Sunday our text will be based upon Psalms 105 and 106. It is not unusual for Psalms to be paired and this is one great example. They close out Book 4 and place us roughly where we have recently been in our Story of Everything. Notice the stark contrast between the two as God’s faithfulness is remembered and extolled in Ps 105 and Israel’s unfaithfulness lamented in Ps 106. Nevertheless, the psalmist ends on a high note praising the God who is faithful to his covenant promises. The devotional theme this week will look at reading the Psalms more faithfully.
