Remember, in His Word, God has:

  • Something to see – what does the text say
  • Something to understand – what does it mean
  • Something to apply – what does it mean to me
  • Something to praise – for what are you thankful?

(1) Through the Bible

Day 1: Isaiah 62-64Day 4: Jer 4-6
Day 2: Is 65-66Day 5: Jer 7-9
Day 3: Jeremiah 1-3Day 6: Jer 10-13

This Sunday’s message finds us in the Book of Daniel, another prophet exiled to Babylon. In short, the book is a book about faith and faithfulness. Great, familiar, stories of faith abound: Daniel in the king’s court (ch 1); seeking God to interpret the four kingdoms dream (ch 2); the fiery furnace of ch 3; interpreting a second dream and the handwriting on the wall (chs 4&5); and, of course, the lion’s den of ch 6. The second half of the book records a series of visions of Daniel. The stories are remarkable, and it is easy for us to focus upon the holiness and faithfulness of the man, but when we look more closely we realize that the faithfulness of God is the foundation for Daniel’s faith.
